Reese starts gymnastics!

Reese takes ballet at her school, but has been asking for a few months to also start gymnastics.  The big day came and as soon as Coach Maddie called the class, Reese went running in.  No fear, just all FUN!

She struck a pose all on her own.

Ella is excited to start her own classes this Saturday, from which we will race to Austin’s basketball game.  It is a crazy, fabulous life!

My 36th Birthday

I was a lucky girl this year since my birthday fell on a Sunday.  This meant an entire weekend of celebrating!  We started Friday night with dinner at Pappasitos.  The kids were all very well behaved and they may now never go back to chips and sopapillas from anywhere elseSmile

Jeff and I got to escape for date night on Saturday, thanks to my parents! Sunday brought us gorgeous 75 degree weather to celebrate with the family.  My old camera was looking pretty shabby, so Jeff and the kids got me a fantastic new one for my birthday.  I think this means I really need to step up my game and figure out how to use something other than the auto setting and learn what ISO is.
But for today, the kids and I snapped away on auto…and I LOVED it!

She is currently obsessed with Puppy (no name, just Puppy) and he must go with her everywhere.

Austin took this shot of Jeff and I.  It may be blurry, but I love it!

Shorts in January is pretty fantastic!  Austin is not a fan of me taking his picture, so I try to capture him without annoying himSmile

Their outfit of choice – Reese with leggings and a skirt and Ella insists on sleeveless, even in January.

Off they go!

Ella wanted to have her picture taken and then take a few pictures.  Love that sweet girl!

By the way—I got lots of comments on these pants.  They were not well received, but I stand by them!

See, that is his “Really, are you going to take my picture again?” face.

It was a relaxing, fabulous birthday.  I was thinking back to 10 years ago when I turned 26.  26 was the year that we bought our first house and decided to try and have a baby (which brought us Austin!) 10 years, 3 houses and 3 kids later at 36…I would say I am one lucky lady to have experienced what I have so far and  have this wonderful man, these three sweet kids and the rest of my family to celebrate with and enjoy all our other crazy moments.  I am looking forward to a great year and can’t imagine what life will look like in another 10 years from now!

Starting my birthday with pedicures

My mom was very sweet and wanted to take me for a birthday pedicure.  The girls got wind of it and insisted they come along, and being that they are just so darn cute, I obliged and it turned into a foursome.
It was Reese’s first time and she loved it, flower design and all!

Reese sat in my lap and Ella sat in my mom’s.

So I may look like I am exhausted or a little tipsy, but I actually had just come from a massage, so am just very relaxedSmile

Back to Basketball

Poor Austin had to sit on the sidelines the last few weeks and watch while he is team played, but with the cast off, he was ready to go!

IMG_4600_edited-1IMG_4601

Clearly I do not know much about sports, but I could tell that his skills have continued to improve from last year.  He drills and makes passes with intent and they look like actual plays!

From here 4 years ago at Wilderness Oak (when I had to hike myself up those stairs with a big ol’ Reesie in my belly)

to now, same school and some of the same boys, but they just keep getting bigger and even cuter!

Hiking!

We all had Martin Luther King Day off and the weather was wonderful!  We decided to take our first go at hiking and the kids actually did pretty well.

That is Austin’s little (or not so little) hand.

I love seeing the close relationships they have and the way they laugh with (or sometimes even at each) other.

IMG_4572IMG_4573IMG_4575

The bridge was the mid-way goal.  As soon as we got there, Reese took a turn for the worst and went to grump town.  She came out of it by the time we finished.

IMG_4578IMG_4583IMG_4588

Ella asked for one more picture before we left.

IMG_4590IMG_4592

We worked up an appetite with the hike so treated ourselves to Fuddruckers's and playing outside in the gorgeous weather after.  How crazy that 4 days later school was cancelled due to ice and yet then another 2 days later it is almost 80 degrees, crazy Texas weather!
