A trip to Lowes

This was the only picture I took last weekend.  It was filled with a basketball game, three birthday parties, visits with family, and many errands, including this one to Lowes.  (To get a new kitchen table chandelier because I broke ours while trying to do a craft project, UGHH!)

It was us three ladies at the home improvement store and they insisted on sitting next to each other in the cart.  Reese then flirted with everybody in the lighting aisleSmile

Making Play Dough at Mimi and Papas

This was a fabulous, fun filled birthday weekend (for me!)  But one of the highlights for the kids was this morning when they got to make play dough at my parents house.  They got to make a big ol’ mess and had a blast.  I made them change out of their clothes because my mom had mentioned food coloring, which I agree is more fun for the kids, but I could only envision clothes ruined.
I am so glad they had such a good time (and that the mess wasn’t at my house)
The flour was just for fun and might have been their favorite part.

Ok, want to talk about leave her alone and let her do her thing – Ella sat here and played for 45 minutes, I had to make her put it up.  She is like this with coloring, playing with babies in her room or playing teacher.  It is very NICE! (As long as Reese and Austin leave her alone)

For future reference, in case I get brave and try to do this at my house:

Play Dough

2 cups flour
3 tbsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup salt
4 tbsp oil
1/2 cup boiling water
food coloring
Mix dry ingredients together. Mix oil, food coloring and boiling water in a separate container. Stir liquid mixture until cool enough to knead. Knead until smooth. If play-dough is too dry, add more water, a little at a time. If play-dough is too crumbly, knead in a small amount of oil. Store in an airtight container.

Basketball, Birthdays, and a Baby Shower

Whew, yesterday was packed!  Luckily, Jeff was able to help more than I had originally planned.  Poor guy had his wisdom teeth removed on Thursday and has been trying to power through.
The morning started off with Austin’s 1st basketball game of the season.  He is playing this season with two of his best buds, Tripp and Drew.  Drew was out of town and missed this weekend, so Austin announced to the entire room when his name was called that he was in Vegas!  I was a little unsure of how this was going to play out during their practice time, but come game time..it was ON!
It was night and day from last year.  Austin was all defense (Jeff said that, don’t know if I really know what it means), but I do know he was right there with that ball the entire game, shooting like crazy, and even passing.  He ended up making one shot, which I unfortunately missed because I had to leave early with the girls to get home and get ready for the shower.
He is #14 this season.  Maybe it is his new specs that are making him play so differently.  I took him to pick out a new pair earlier this week, gave him free reign…and he picked what some might say are a statement.  He likes them because they are black and white, Spurs colors!

I was rushing home to get ready for my sister in law’s baby shower, that I threw with one of her friends.  While I was at the shower my dad took Ella to a birthday party.  He snagged a few shots for meSmile

Our two favorite Ellas!  And hello, I just looked closely at this picture and realized poor Ella’s pants had popped open.  Poor girl, time to move up to 4T!

Meanwhile, I was at Leslie’s shower.  She has been on bed rest for the past 5 weeks and hopefully has another 9 weeks to go.  It will be well worth it when we get to meet these sweet girls!

The little cutie is Callen, a friend’s almost 2 month old.  He was adorable and everyone loved getting to snuggle him.  I loved it too, but for the first time in years…it did not make me want to have another baby!!!! Of course I already knew we were done with the three amazing ones we have, but in the past I would hold a baby and think, awww, I miss this so much and would feel the surge of my maternal instinct and biological clock ticking.  Nope, not anymore, I am maternally satiated!
After the shower, it was home to get Austin and Ella off to my parents where they spent the night and had a blast.   The only drawback to these things is that they come home the next day so grumpy and TIRED.  Trade offs I guess.  I was able to make it to a late dinner with my oldest, more like a sister, friend, Sarah.  There were no pictures, but we toasted her birthday with other fabulous ladies,  adult beverages and truffle, parmesan fries at ZINC.  Can I just say, it is 24 hours later and I am still thinking about those fries!
Exhausting, but a fabulous way to spend my Saturday!

More Christmas pictures from Grandma Chris’ house

It may be the middle of January, but Reese is still asking for Santa to come back.

Just a few more shots of the fabulous day that was above and beyond amazing!

Happy New Year’s!!! Hello 2012!

12-31-11, new years eve
Thanks to Sarah and Danny for as always hosting their annual New Year’s Eve celebration!  We did pretend that the ball dropping in New York was our New Year’s, but Austin called me out and said it wasn’t 12am yet:)
We made it back home to our house to see the fireworks before we all tucked in.
2011 was pretty wonderful, but I am looking forward to all that 2012 has in store as well.
I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions, but thought I would give it a try this year:
1) Drink more water
2) Exercise ( I don’t add the more part, because I am starting from zero, so can only go up from here)
3) Be more organized.  This will be my hardest.  It isn’t that I am a total disaster now, just too tired from keeping up with the three munchkins to be as good as I would like.
We will see how this goes:)
Happy New Year’s!!!!!

Hanging out on New Year’s Eve Day

More enjoying the fabulous weather!

And I gave up, took the gate down and let her do it all by herself.

Winter in San Antonio

Ok, it may be awful in August, but December can be heaven. Friday was 70 degrees and beautiful! We hit the zoo. Honestly, the kids were all kind of grumpy, but finally warmed up by the end and especially when we hit Fuddruckers after for some French fries dipped in cheese. (YUM!!! Sorry, put that one in more for me than anything else:)
