2 girls, 1 gym, same time!

Reese was a little nervous about being in the big gym, but big sis helped her out and all was good!

Ella’s trip to the American Girl doll store

Ella got her beloved American Girl Doll – Lily for her 6th birthday and her friend, Lauren, got one a month or so later.
Apparently the American Girl Doll experience is not complete without a trip and lunch to the store.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the store, but I sure was excited to get a couple of days alone with my girl.   She and Lauren were talking about it for weeks and were so excited!

As I was loading up for the trip, it occurred to me that this was one of those moments you dream of when you find out you are having a girl.  Although there are parts of parenting that I miss now that we have moved past the baby and toddler stage, I am really enjoying moments like these and how much easier so many parts are.  Thank goodness!

Ella and I headed up the day before (with an obligatory Bucees stop on the way) and stayed with my friend from college, Judy.  I am realizing now, it would have been nice to get a picture with Judy and her sweet baby belly, but apparently I am not that organized.  We hung out and swam and then got cupcakes that were to die for!  Judy has two boys and a girl on the way, but the boys were at their dad’s house, so Ella had the run of the toys herself.  It was so EASY to travel with just one childSmile

The next morning it was time to get ready in their matching outfits and go meet Lauren and Kathryn at the store.

They wandered and shopped and looked around for almost an hour before our lunch reservation, it really was so much fun!

Man they wanted that car! They finally decided to both get matching pajamas and sleeping bags so they could all coordinate at their next sleepover.

As we were checking out, I asked if there was anyway we could exchange Lily for a lighter colored version.  I didn’t expect them to say yes, but it was no problem at all.  I had gotten the doll for Ella at the store in Dallas, without her.  It is very hard to tell how they really look in the box, in that light.  We came away with a new Lily and Ella was happy, not giving it a second thought.

We were back at home by dinner, hit the pool with friends, and then they were both in their matching jammies.  We both had such a great time!

It really is amazing to see them grow up before my eyes.  I wish I could make it slow down a little.

We are so proud of the hard work they put in this year and great job that they did!

Kinder & 3rd grade end of school year parties!

Wow, it really does seem like this school year flew by.  We weren’t quite sure what to expect coming into Huebner from the other elementary, but overall were pretty happy.  It is a smaller, tighter community.  We really appreciated Mrs. Hidalgo’s approach with Austin and his class and Ella just adored Mrs. Watts.

The class parties were at the same time, so I tried my best to be in both classes.  Ella actually wanted to leave hers and join big brother for a bit.

His class had a competition – roll the cookie from your fore head into your mouth – who’s first? Mine…I am so proudSmile

We raced back to Ella’s class to catch the sweet slide show Mrs. Watts put together.

They had a beach ball for all the friends to sign.

We are so appreciative to these two who put so much time and effort into making it a great year for our kids!

Spring Ball 2014

Another season of baseball in the books.  It was his first season of kid pitch and they started out a little shaky, but really improved and got pretty good as the season went on.
I am so proud of this guy and really loved watching the games – quite the pitcher and first base man, this one isSmile

So proud!

I think I am behind – so this was the team picture from Fall Ball 2013

By the way, Austin just adores Jeff and so badly wants to please him and get his approval.  I know this is all completely normal for kids and their parents.  Jeff has been great and put so much into helping coach the teams.  He thinks it may be time to step back from coach and just be dad.  Love these two so much!
