New Year’s Eve, 12-31-12

Jeff and I had to work on Monday, New Year’s Eve day, so we went very casual this year and just headed over to Grandma Chris’s for dinner.  We were back home by 8:30 and I think I was incredibly lame and fell asleep at 9:30.

2012 had a lot of wonderful parts and a few things we could have done without, but overall, we are so incredibly blessed and really cannot ask for much more.  We are so excited at all that 2013 will bring us as well!

Austin was in the other room watching sports, so these were the only pictures I captured of the night.  Trying to get all 4 girls to look and smile at the same time is a bit challenging.

We are so excited at all that 2013 will bring us as well!  I will start a new position with my company, Ella will start kindergarten later in the year and we hope to take at least one great family vacation.  It is going to be a great year!

Ella and Reese’s idea of fun

We are not sure what to make of this, but they seem to think it is a ball.  Ella tells me it is her classroom and these are all for her “kids.”

Alamo Bowl 2012, UT vs. Oregon State

These boys scored tickets to the game.  I hear it was a close one and they had a great time!  UT won!

Ella cooks with friends

Santa brought Ella and her friends, Ella Perkins and Addie Brown, a cooking class as a present for Christmas.  I was pleasantly surprised at how much she enjoyed it and how interested she was.

Relaxing Christmas Vacation

For the first time in a long time, I took the whole week of Christmas off from work.  It was fun and surprisingly relaxing.  Jeff worked a few days, but the rest of the time we got to all hang out together and play.  The kids loved this huge castle they got to color from my Aunt Lois (even if Reese did keep storming through it like a crazy bull and knocking it down.)
Also take note of Austin and Reese still in their pajamas and Ella already dressed.  It never matters if it is a weekend or a school day, she comes down fully dressed, jewelry on and ready to go EVERY day.  I believe it was in the 40s this day, but she was insisting on jean shorts and a short sleeve shirt.  I do make her change if we leave the house, but for this, I just went with the flow and let her be.  I am very aware that I must pick my battles with this beautiful, smart and very strong willed child.

Austin lost his first tooth!

After Austin’s fear about how much it might hurt to come out, the little (sweet) tooth popped out on its own while eating a snack at school on Jan 17, 2013.

We love you buddy!!!

Bathtub Girls

A new job, traveling, and the holidays have made me slack on taking pictures and getting them up on the blog.  This one just makes me happy and was captured with my ipad.
