Hilton Head, 2014, Day 7

Austin, Jeff and I started out our final day with the Hilton Head 5K Firecracker run.  It was the first one we have done together and dare I say I enjoyed it!?!

A little action shot of our boy (I had to have music, wasn’t happening without it)

And 35 minutes later, so proud of Austin!

Time to enjoy the beach one last day.  Not going to lie, these three fought us on it pretty hard,  but we didn’t budge and after about 30 minutes of fits, they got over it and ended up having a great time.

Swimming sisters.  Their relationship is everything I dreamed it would be when I found out we would have two girls; shoving, kissing, yelling, hugging…I love it!

Later it was time for night swimming and 4th of July fireworks watching, all from our deck.

I had already bathed Reese and put her in pajamas.  She came out in her swimsuit wanting to get in the pool.  I told her she would be in SOOO much trouble if she got in.  She thought about it for a moment and in a coy voice asked “how much trouble?”  It was so stinkin cute that we just let her in.

And of course, smores!
We had to pack up and head home the next morning.  There really are no words to describe how much we love these vacations…everything else melts away and we just get to relax and enjoy each other.
Thanks so much to Grandma Chris, we love you!

Hilton Head, 2014, Day 6

One of the things I loved about this trip was being able to go for a great walk with Jeff in the morning, ending up with iced coffee from Joe’s….sigh…it was so good!  Ella joined us this morning.

A little pool, then it was time to hit the Salty Dog for lunch, yum!

This beauty walked out on the deck at the restaurant, Ella was so excited, a Husky! Just like their Huebner Husky mascot.

Hilton Head, 2014, Day 5

Beach, beach, and more beach!

Jeff went for a run before we all got up and made sure to heed this warning.

The low tide in late afternoons made for a great fishing area for Austin.  This was a turning point day for him.  He had been freaked out that he was going to get stung by a jelly fish earlier in the week and wouldn’t really get in the water.  He flipped a switch this day and conquered his jelly fears!

The beach was their gymnasium.  Little one trying so hard to be like big sis.

Hilton Head, 2014, Day 4

Tuesday was the last day before Sally had to leave, so we hit Lawson stables for pony rides and lunch at the delicious, The Crazy Crab.

We didn’t do a trail ride this year with Austin and actually realized that Ella is almost too old as well for the ponies.  A few of the ones that had been there in years past were now….gone.

The ponies this year were Cookie and Dusty.

Another sweet mom helped me corral these kiddos and forced them into a smile so I could have a picture of us all.

We love “Aunt” Sally!

IMG_1897

The only downfall of the crab…no hush puppies during lunch…what!?! The low-country lemonade did make up for it though.

IMG_1898

It blows my mind how big these three are getting!

We took a quick look at the lighthouse this year instead of climbing it.  It was time to head back to the beach.

IMG_1918IMG_1925

We had family pictures taken this night and we had promised the kids we could go to “the moo” after for ice cream, but the girls were so beat they just wanted to go home.  Jeff dropped Austin and I off, so I got this guy all to myself.  The line was pretty long, so we chatted and then ate our treat as we walked back to the house…one of my favorite parts of this trip.
