Can’t believe we started like this on 4/18/05:
years later, to this (breakfast care of daddy), we now have this amazing guy!
I brought donuts to his class to celebrate.
Then he got to leave school a little early and go for a swim, the water was still a little cold!
Dinner at Big’z.
Ella so badly kept trying to convince us it was her birthday again too and got quite grumpy that it wasn’t. Reese was happy to be along for the ride.
Frozen yogurt for a birthday desert.
Home for presents!
Jeff and I both love watching all of the kids grow up, but it is amazing to literally see before our eyes Austin coming into his own and becoming more of an independent person. This guy is 7 now, 7!!! There is no more trying to slide things by or pacify him with general answers, he catches everything!
Now, that doesn’t mean he listens to everything we say, he is still a little boy after all. There are a lot of dirty socks or towels lying around, balls bouncing, things breaking, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Austin adores sports, correction, may be a little obsessed with sports! All of his writing, or original stories from class involve either a game he has been to, one he saw on TV, or one he has made up in his head. He is happiest when he is out shooting hoops or playing catch with Jeff. (Jeff and I are cursing ourselves for not having bought a house with a flat driveway so he could have a real set-up out front)
Austin is extremely patient with his two little sisters (don’t get me wrong, they do fight), but you will often walk into his room and Ella has set-up baby doll shop in there and he could care less. He is also beginning to eat like a big kid, will tear through a kid’s meal at a restaurant and still want more.
I know my days are numbered, but he will still hold my hand and always runs up with a big hug when I pick him up from school, which makes my day every time!
Austin- you are an amazing, funny, and sweet little guy… and we love you so much!!
Happy Birthday buddy!
